Interior painting projects at various program sites throughout Sacramento.

Sacramento Senior Safe House
Location: Sacramento Senior Safe House
Date/Time Commitment: Varies (Sacramento Senior Safe House opens in August 2009)
Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks, including acting as a companion for seniors, organizing activities, assisting staff with clerical duties, and weekly landscaping maintenance.

As one of the 12 social service agencies designated as beneficiaries of the 2009 Sacramento Valley AIDS Run/Walk, Volunteers of America has a need for volunteers to assist in pre-event and day-of-event activities.

Operation Backpack

Date/Time Commitment: between July 6 and 30
Operation Backpack is Volunteers of America's annual community drive to collect new backpacks and school supplies for the Greater Sacramento area's homeless and disadvantaged children. For the 2009 campaign, we are in need of volunteers to help with a variety of tasks.
