About Us
Volunteers of America, is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential.
Founded in 1896 by social reformers Ballington and Maud Booth, Volunteers of America was envisioned as a movement whose mission would be to "reach and uplift all" – to "go wherever we are needed and do whatever comes to hand."
Those principles have guided Volunteers of America’s outreach efforts ever since.

For your inspiration
The object of every Volunteer, as well as the movement as a whole, will be to sacrifice and suffer for others –– to bring hope to the hopeless, gladness to the saddened heart ....
