Brightening Birthdays
Volunteers of America Northern California and Northern Nevada is bringing the excitement and fun of birthdays and family celebrations to children through its Brightening Birthdays™ initiative. We hold birthday parties – complete with cake and presents – for children and families who have experienced homelessness. Those experiencing unstable housing issues so often miss out on the celebrations most American families experience together, especially birthdays, and Brightening Birthdays helps change that.
Members of the local community can help make these family celebrations a success by volunteering, donating supplies, hosting a party, or making a financial contribution

To sign up to volunteer or donate to a party, please call 916-442-3691 or email ahartsell@voa-ncnn.org. Your information will be passed on to the birthday party coordinator who will contact you with all the details.We are currently looking for volunteers for our 2013 Brightening Birthdays celebrations.
* We are accepting only new, unused and unopened toys which are appropriate for children who may not have access to a computer, yard, bathtub, oven or windows/sills of their own. If a gift requires batteries, please include the appropriate type with your gift.
