Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization providing local human service programs, as well as opportunities for individual and community involvement.
Founded nationally in 1896, Volunteers of America's ongoing mission to reach and uplift all people includes helping families with children, seniors, the homeless, former foster youth, and people with mental health, and substance-abuse issues.
In collaboration with ReStart Inc., Volunteers of America Northern Nevada services include food and shelter, counseling, independent living and parenting skills, affordable housing, homeless prevention and rapid re-housing, and mental-health services.

Women's Shelter (Reno)
The Volunteers of America/ReStart Women's Shelter provides emergency shelter to homeless women.
Mental Health Support Center
The Volunteers of America/ReStart Mental Health Support Center offers clinical and non-clinical services for eligible individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and have a mental illness.
Homeless Prevention Program
Volunteers of America/ReStart provides crisis intervention and stabilization services for Washoe County families, people with a long-term disability, seniors over 60 and individuals with HIV/AIDS and others who are at risk of becoming homeless.
